Point Roberts
Scope: Master Planning
Project Type: Mixed-Use Community
Size: 150 Acres
Description: The vision for Point Roberts was the creation of a destination waterfront resort community that complimented and integrated within the natural shoreline and waterfront environment. The plan is based around a public waterfront promenade fronted by cottages, homes, inn, restaurant and retail, and a series of sheltered public lookout/view platforms. Critical to the success of the community was maintaining the ongoing marina facilities as well as providing public shoreline and beach front access. The resort is anchored by a waterfront village, inn, and yacht club as well as a resident’s clubhouse, pool and recreation center. Residential areas are located in clusters creating open space for courtyards, walkways, and connections to the water. Several acres of wetland restoration and habitat creation are proposed within and around the community which not enhanced the existing coastal environment but provided a natural amenity for guests, walking trails and natural beauty.
